Job Summary The Sr. Field Application Engineer (FAE) will be part of a growing, dynamic team responsible for developing new or existing opportunities in the global IT market. The FAE focuses on customer and solution delivery, ensuring projects meet customer requirements and support business continuity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Solution architect and presentation skills to expand Fortune 1000 account penetration and loyalty
Work closely with sales and extended teams to map end‑user customer business, partner requirements, and provide optimized technical solutions
Provide technical leadership in pre‑sales and oversee implementation of solutions
Engage with technical customers, gain and maintain trust
Serve as a highly technical problem solver understanding system architecture, hardware, and software interaction
Possess basic hardware debugging skills
Manage product hardware and software engineers during product development
Lead teams in investigating and resolving field problems
Understand firmware, drivers, OS, applications and their interactions that can cause system issues
Develop and review systems solutions, technical bid responses, and presentations
Build and demonstrate proof‑of‑concepts that meet or exceed customer business needs
Present the corporate brand, product messaging, and solutions to customers
Visit on‑site facilities and operations to enable solution integration and issue resolution
Travel up to 10%
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master’s degree in engineering discipline; computer science, computer engineering, and electrical engineering preferred
Excellent communication skills and business sense
Minimum 5–8 years of related experience with compute/storage server or data center or IT infrastructure
Strong background and experience with x86‑based server architecture
Solid hardware system expertise and diagnostics skills
Familiarity with firmware, Linux, Windows, and virtualization platforms is a plus
Strong technical communication and leadership skills to lead investigations with multidisciplinary engineers
Ability to work effectively in a high‑pressure environment
