Description: Develop and manage content for the district's website and social media platforms and assist in the development and implementation of the district's strategic internal and external communication plans.
Job Summary
Manage and maintain the district's website and provide support to each school in the management of their individual site. This includes training of staff as needed.
Develop and post dynamic content and visual imagery on the district's media platforms conforming with the district marketing and brand strategy.
Support other members of the Communications team to create and/or edit copy that is timely, consistent, effective, and according to AP standards.
Edit, post, and integrate audiovisual media on the sites.
Ensure accessibility of all webpages, documents and digital media utilized by the district to conform with WCAG (Website Content Accessibility Guideline) standards.
Serve as the first point of contact for the public and staff regarding the website or digital media platforms. Monitor feedback on website and social media platforms.
Design and implement analytics to effectively evaluate web and social media strategies using multiple data sources.
Optimize web resources for search engines. Track and report website metrics.
Support web and database server administrators and work with internal and external support teams to diagnose/solve issues, as needed.
Collaborate with district level teams on digital communication and marketing needs including graphic design, coordination of marketing activities and media campaigns, and the measurement and reporting on campaign results.
Assists in special event planning to support with digital and public communication needs.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Working knowledge of graphic design and social media platforms.
Proficiency in applying WCAG (Website Content Accessibility Guidelines) standards to digital content, ensuring all web assets, PDFs, and multimedia are fully accessible and ADA-compiliant.
Proficiency in applying brand standards to digital content, ensuring all website graphics, and templates maintain visual consistency and align with the district's established style guidelines.
Working knowledge of content management systems and the ability to perform regular content audits and structural updates to ensure site accuracy and functionality.
Understanding of web architecture, user experience, and customer service.
Understanding of current operating platforms, computer hardware and associated software applications.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to organize and coordinate work.
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of end-users.
Ability to report work orally and/or in writing to supervisor.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff and others contacted in the course of work.
Ability to engage in self-evaluation regarding leadership, performance, and professional growth.
Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
Ability to anticipate and address problems in a resourceful and consistent manner.
Ability to use analytical, problem solving and creative thinking skills with respect to web-related issues.
Education and Background Knowledge Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying.
Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
Bachelor's Degree in Communications with a background in graphic or digital design, or College/technical school coursework equivalent to a 4-year college education combined with at least 5 years of experience.
Prior successful experience in one or more of the following fields: web design, graphic design, communications, and content management.
Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
Working Conditions District Office and travel between schools. This is a non-bargaining 12-month calendar position.
Compensation $72,467-$97,843; experience will be considered and aligned with others with similar experience in the same position grade. The position is exempt under the FLSA.
