Software Design Engineer Torch Technologies is seeking a Software Design Engineer to join a team to assist the 39th Electronic Warfare Squadron (EWS) and 350th Spectrum Warfare Wing (350 SWW) at Eglin AFB, Florida. Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain Windows & client/server applications to support MD development and testing for EW system programming/reprogramming activities. Develop applications using programming languages such as C#, Python, MATLAB, SQL Server, SharePoint, and ASP.NET. Execute development and maintenance of computer applications that support Electronic Warfare (EW) systems used by engineers to review, modify, and export data in various formats. Participate in the requirements definition, performance specifications, design, analysis, simulation, test, and evaluation of EW integrated systems and equipment. Identify issues and develop solutions to hardware and software issues. Apply engineering, analytical, and technical disciplines to establish and maintain long‑term engineering, operation, and maintenance support for in‑service system capabilities. Develop an Application Programming Interface (API) to simplify design, administration, and use of new tools and products, or manage existing ones. Advise and assist with development of tools to support the reduction, filtering, conversion to analysis format, and analysis of data involving EW systems. Required Qualifications U.S. Citizenship. Bachelor’s Degree in a technical/engineering discipline or equivalent experience (6 years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree). Experience in an engineering capacity. Experience coding, debugging, and maintaining applications in the aforementioned programming languages. Ability to analyze problems at a fundamental level to design flexible solutions and optimize techniques. Understanding of the software development lifecycle and knowledge of the Risk Management Framework. Ability to optimize SQL stored procedures/functions. Technical knowledge and good code documentation practices for deployment documentation. Strong communication skills to interface with customers for gathering requirements, diagnosing, and resolving issues. Detail‑oriented, focused, and creative in tackling customer pain points efficiently to generate scalable solutions. Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret DoW Clearance. Preferred Qualifications Current active Top Secret or Secret security clearance. 8140 intermediate qualification. Bachelor’s or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or electrical engineering. Previous experience in RF integration, EM spectrum management, antenna design, and digital signal processing. Schedule & Location Schedule: Monday‑Friday, 8‑5. Location: Onsite, Eglin AFB, FL.
