Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior LIMS Business Analyst to support the implementation of a replacement STARLIMS LPH solution used for environmental and clinical laboratory testing. This role will work closely with laboratory stakeholders, technical teams, and project personnel to support requirements gathering, system validation, testing, process improvement, and implementation activities.
Job Description The Senior LIMS Business Analyst will join a team supporting multiple Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and web-based portals. The primary focus of this engagement is the implementation of a replacement STARLIMS LPH platform supporting environmental and clinical laboratory operations. This position will participate in system discovery and training activities, requirements elicitation, business process analysis, solution documentation, quality assurance testing, and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in laboratory environments and LIMS implementations, along with the ability to translate business needs into effective technical solutions that improve laboratory operations and data management.
Responsibilities Business Analysis & Requirements Management
Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business requirements through interviews, workshops, and stakeholder collaboration.
Create and maintain business requirements documents, functional specifications, use cases, user stories, and solution design documentation.
Analyze existing laboratory workflows and identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies.
Support decision-making through data analysis and business process evaluations.
LIMS Implementation & Validation
Support the implementation and deployment of the STARLIMS LPH platform for environmental and clinical laboratory users.
Participate in application discovery, training, and knowledge transfer activities.
Assist with STARLIMS configuration validation and implementation support activities.
Collaborate with project teams to ensure business requirements are accurately translated into system functionality.
Quality Assurance & Testing
Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and testing scenarios.
Perform quality assurance activities to validate system functionality and business process alignment.
Support defect tracking, issue resolution, and user acceptance testing efforts.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
Partner with laboratory personnel, business stakeholders, and technical teams to gather requirements and provide project updates.
Facilitate communication among stakeholders and manage expectations throughout project execution.
Provide recommendations and insights to support project objectives and operational goals.
Operational Support
Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and Azure DevOps tools to support project documentation, analysis, and testing activities.
Contribute to project deliverables while adhering to established SDLC methodologies and project standards.
Support both Agile and Waterfall project delivery approaches as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
5 years of laboratory experience, including clinical or environmental bench work, or experience supporting laboratory systems.
5 years of experience with LIMS implementation projects.
10 years of analytical problem‑solving experience.
10 years of experience with requirements gathering, use case creation, and execution.
Experience with System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies, including Agile and Waterfall approaches.
Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases, and user stories.
Experience creating business requirements, functional specifications, and solution design documentation.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, and DevOps tools.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship, now or in the future.
Must physically reside within the United States for the duration of the assignment.
Must be available to interview via phone or in person and work on‑site as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with STARLIMS configuration.
Experience with STARLIMS LPH implementations.
Additional experience supporting environmental or clinical laboratory operations.
Compensation
This is a 1099 Contract role.
Pay Rate: $43 – $63 per hour
Schedule
Assignment Start Date: 07/01/2026
Assignment End Date: 07/01/2027
Assignment Duration: 12 months
Hybrid work arrangement
On‑site schedule: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday
Remote work schedule: Thursday and Friday
