Other Requirements
Ability to operate office equipment, including personal computer, printers, copy machines, and telephones.
Ability to work irregular hours and flexible scheduling, including reporting to work on short notice during emergency situations.
Successful completion of pre‑employment background check, physical and drug screen.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Partner with stakeholders to define business questions, metrics, dimensions, filters, report layouts, semantic model needs, drill paths, and acceptance criteria.
Translate business requirements into source‑to‑target mapping input, data quality rules, report specifications, and semantic model requirements.
Determine the appropriate data product category—operational report, Power BI semantic model, gold data product, certified platinum product, automation, or ad‑hoc analysis—and document assumptions, exclusions, business rules, and source‑system limitations.
Perform data querying, validation, and reconciliation: write SQL, DAX, Power Query M, and report dataset queries; validate row counts, aggregate totals, distinct keys, required fields, duplicate records, date windows, joins, unions, and filters; reconcile reports and semantic model outputs to approved source totals and documented business rules.
Support unit, user acceptance testing, release validation, defect triage, and document validation evidence, exceptions, known limitations, and sign‑off notes.
Build, enhance, and maintain Power BI reports, dashboards, semantic models, measures, and data visualizations; develop paginated reports; use Power Query to connect, shape, combine, and parameterize data.
Develop and support Power Automate workflows for alerts, approvals, notifications, refresh support, report distribution, exception handling, and operational handoffs; support Power Apps, Dataverse, and Copilot Studio use cases where analytics outputs become guided actions or business workflows.
Maintain and contribute to data dictionaries, business glossaries, metric catalogs, source‑to‑target mappings, lineage notes, report inventories, and validation checklists; support metadata and governance practices for cataloging, ownership, certification, endorsement, sensitivity, access review, and quality evidence.
Work with data owners and stewards to align business definitions with system behavior and reporting needs; support master data management analysis for customer, account, product, location, device, meter, vendor, chart of accounts, or reference‑data quality issues.
Collaborate with data engineers to review transformations, validate data products, prioritize defects, and resolve data questions with operational, financial, customer, technology, compliance, and leadership teams.
Train users on reports, metrics, filters, data definitions, and appropriate interpretation; support release readiness, deployment validation, post‑release issue triage, and continuous improvement.
Analyze and reconcile grid, outage, meter, asset, service location, customer, billing, and reliability data to support operational reporting, regulatory reporting, reliability improvement, and executive decision‑making.
