Remote Sensing is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to guide a team through developing complex Payload Flight Software (PLSW) for Lockheed Martin Space. The candidate will work as an embedded, real‑time PLSW development and integration engineer on next‑generation payload flight software.
Responsibilities
Develop software for real‑time control and interaction with hardware and software subsystems.
Conduct software‑only and hardware/software testing, including integration tests to validate hardware‑to‑software interfaces, software‑to‑software interfaces, and overall functionality.
Analyze hardware, software, and system requirements and implementation.
Utilize Model‑Based Design approaches to develop and test code.
Establish development and test tools; identify and resolve anomalies during testing on various software‑ and system‑level platforms.
Implement required software modifications and participate in technical reviews and audits of software products.
Provide hands‑on design, development, and integration efforts across all phases of the software lifecycle following the program Software Development Plan (SDP).
Participate in major program reviews and provide formal program briefings to government customers.
Engage in interface working groups with the hardware development team and host payloads that may include the customer.
Basic Qualifications
Ability to design software solutions to address complex problems.
Extensive experience with embedded software development using C/C++, Object‑Oriented Design and Real‑Time programming constructs.
Working knowledge and experience of embedded and closed‑loop software systems, and verification in both software simulation/emulation and hardware‑in‑the‑loop systems.
Tools experience with IBM DOORS, CAMEO (SysML/UML), Wind River WorkBench, and Wind River VxWorks 6.x/7.x.
Active TS Security Clearance.
Desired Skills
Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented, rapidly changing environment.
Familiarity with spacecraft subsystems, hardware, telemetry, command & control.
Experience integrating complex software systems with high performance and/or timing constraints.
Demonstrated experience using the Agile methodology in the development, integration and test of complex software systems and environments.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a U.S. citizen for consideration. Clearance Level: TS/SCI
Salary: The annual base salary range for this position in California, Massachusetts, and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, Vermont, Washington or Washington DC is $134,000 – $236,325. For states not referenced above, the salary range reflects the candidate’s final work location.
