Position Summary:
A well-established company in Carson is seeking an Accounting Assistant with a focus on Accounts Payable to join their team. This entry-level, contract-to-hire role is ideal for someone who has recently completed a degree in Accounting and is looking to build their career in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and code vendor invoices for payment
- Match purchase orders, packing slips, and invoices
- Assist with weekly check runs and ACH payments
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records and files for AP transactions
- Support month-end closing tasks related to AP
- Assist with special projects as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
- 1+ year of experience in Accounts Payable or general accounting support
- Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
