Program Manager

The Program Manager is responsible for leading a specific customer program or project type and managing the production resources required to deliver a quality program safely, on time, and within budget.

This role plans, organizes, schedules, and manages production manpower across the program to ensure each project has the right skills assigned at the right time to meet operational and budget goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Minimize work stoppages on my Program
  • Ensure the timely completion of work documents for my program
  • Ensure that all known impact items are processed immediately
  • Mentor, develop my supervisor's organizational skills
  • Support variable staffing requirements
  • Ensure skill cross utilization as required on my Program
  • Ensure that aircraft visit plans/milestones are created and followed
  • Ensure that the aircraft Status boards/Milestone boards are maintained daily
  • Ensure the 24/48/72-hour plans are created and followed
  • Provide daily aircraft status to the customer and FAS management
  • Ensure the team's vacation liability, sick time and the FAR requirements are tracked for my program
  • Ensure plans are in place for weekends Manpower/Milestones to accomplish
Financial
  • Ensure the budgets on my program are monitored daily and if off track I will assist the Supervisors to ensure Production Efficiency is met
  • Monitor and report forecasted budget hours by project assigned
  • Ensure Empower MX is utilized correctly and effectively on my program as required
  • Ensure that estimate updates and settlement processes are maintained in a timely and cost-effective manner by getting approval for T&M work in advance of assigning task cards
  • Ensure all team members assigned will be productive and efficient with their time
  • Minimize and manage OT by planning it on my program
  • Be responsible for invoicing labor, materials and outside services correctly
  • Manage Return to Stock (Leftovers) for my Program
  • Lead the continuous improvement process through those assigned to me
Quality
  • Ensure all work is in compliance with work documents and FAA Regulations
  • Ensure all follow the customer CAMP and our 145 Policies and Procedures
  • Set and monitor high standards for my team regarding quality and compliance
  • Ensure that all employees assigned are properly trained
  • Ensure the work area is maintained in a clean, productive and efficient manner
  • Mentor my Project Managers and leadership team on the importance of Quality and Compliance
  • Communicate any potential quality problems and issues with the DOM and executive leadership
Safety
  • Ensure that all employees always follow safety rules
  • Ensure all employees always follow Process and Procedures
  • If I cannot correct an unsafe condition or behavior, I will notify the DOM or GM
  • Ensure fall protection is used properly when required
  • Ensure spotters are utilized as required around aircraft
  • Ensure accidents, aircraft damage and injuries are reported, and reports are complete, accurate and turned immediately
  • Ensure the work area (Hangar/aircraft) is monitored for cleanliness and safe working conditions
  • Communicate to the DOM and Executive leadership if an emergency occurs

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong leadership attributes

  • Computer software skills, including Microsoft Office products and industry planning and production software
  • Policy and procedure compliance discipline
  • Working knowledge of FARs and FAA 145 Repair Station Certificate requirements and obligations
Education, Experience, and Qualifications
  • College degree preferred
  • A&P certificates
  • 5 years of technical hands-on experience
  • 3 years of supervisory experience leading and directing aircraft maintenance technicians on transport category aircraft
  • LEAN continuous improvement experience
