Job Summary: Under the general supervision of a Physical Therapist, provide direct care to students using standard physical therapy procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with the school team and physical therapist to provide services to children including interventions, in small group and individual sessions.
• Ability to work with children of varied abilities and temperaments.
• Follow and implement the plan for each student developed by the physical therapist.
• Provide documentation and reports at Individual Educational Planning meetings.
• Ability to work independently and manage schedules and caseload.
• Position requires travel between school districts.
• Possess verbal and written communication skills, write notes on services provided and provide input and feedback to teachers and the physical therapist.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Regular and consistent attendance.
• Must have knowledge of and comply with the policies and procedures contained in the Portage Public Schools Employee Handbook.

Qualifications:

• Associate's degree from accredited PTA program.
• Physical Therapy Assistant License
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with district staff and the public.
• Ability to assume responsibility, display initiative, and exercise good judgment.
• Proficient computer and document skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
