A private equity-backed industrial services company is seeking a General Manager / President to lead a regional business unit serving customers throughout the New York metropolitan area.
This executive will have full responsibility for business performance across sales, operations, customer service, and financial results. The General Manager will lead a team of sales professionals, field technicians, project personnel, and support staff while partnering with corporate resources across Finance, HR, IT, and other shared services.
The successful candidate will drive profitable growth, improve operational execution, strengthen accountability, and accelerate the organization's transition toward a higher-margin recurring service model. This individual will serve as the senior leader for the market, partnering closely with customers and employees to strengthen the company's market position and drive long-term growth.
Key ResponsibilitiesBranch Leadership & Financial Performance
Own full P&L responsibility for a regional business unit.
Develop and execute operating plans that drive revenue growth, margin expansion, and operational excellence.
Monitor key performance indicators, including revenue, gross margin, technician utilization, service mix, productivity, and customer retention.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on profitability, efficiency, and accountability.
Commercial Leadership
Lead and develop sales professionals responsible for project and recurring service revenue growth.
Support strategic customer opportunities, pricing decisions, key account relationships, and major pursuits.
Increase recurring service revenue through maintenance agreements, inspections, and service contract penetration.
Drive conversion of project customers into long-term service relationships.
Operations Leadership
Oversee all service, installation, project management, scheduling, and field operations activities.
Lead technicians and operational personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality execution.
Improve technician utilization, scheduling effectiveness, workforce productivity, and service profitability.
Ensure all projects and service work are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Team & Market Leadership
Lead, coach, and develop personnel while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Establish clear expectations, performance standards, and operating rhythms across the organization.
Strengthen customer relationships and identify opportunities to expand market share.
Represent the organization within the local business community and collaborate across the broader enterprise.
Qualifications10+ years of progressive leadership experience within a self-performing industrial services organization.
Demonstrated success leading both sales and operations teams within a branch, region, or business unit.
Prior P&L ownership with accountability for revenue growth and profitability.
Experience managing field service technicians and service-oriented operations.
Proven track record growing recurring service revenue, maintenance agreements, and customer retention.
Strong commercial acumen, including pricing strategy, sales leadership, and customer relationship management.
Experience driving operational improvement, workforce accountability, and organizational change.
Strong analytical, financial, and operational management skills.
Ability to lead through managers while remaining connected to customers and frontline employees.
Compensation$190,000 - $215,000 base salary plus 25% target bonus and comprehensive benefits package.
