Fighters Software Engineering Manager (Level K) Location: Daytona Beach, FL. 100% onsite. Position Overview Leads a team of mission systems software engineers developing real‑time embedded software for a Fighters Platform in an agile, collaborative environment. Serves as a business owner on the program’s agile release train, works closely with Program Management and customers, and promotes collaboration between St.Louis and Daytona Beach. Responsibilities Develop and carry out project and process plans, implement policies and procedures, and set operational goals. Acquire resources for projects and processes, provide technical management of suppliers, and lead process improvements. Develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and team members. Provide guidance and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes. Hire, manage, develop, and motivate employees. Manage employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software Engineering. Manage within the Scaled Agile Framework environment (SAFe). Coordinate across teams within the Agile Release Train (ART) and across other ARTs on the Solution Train. Manage and coordinate work across unclassified and collateral secret areas to ensure full solutions for the warfighter. Fulfill Cost Account Manager (CAM) duties for Earned Value Management (EVM) tracking. Present software status to Boeing Program Management and Navy customers and support program contract management. Basic Qualifications Ability to obtain Secret U.S. Security clearance (Post‑Start). At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temporary manager, large‑scale cross‑functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) or completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.” Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. 3 or more years of leadership experience. Experience working on Mission Systems products. Experience leading software teams. Working knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). Experience with Earned Value Management. Travel Some travel may be required, up to 10% of the time. Pay & Benefits Competitive base pay and variable compensation opportunities. Pay ranges from $149,600 to $202,400. Security Clearance & Eligibility Requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. citizenship is required.
