About the Opportunity Our client, a leader in Professional Services, is looking for a skilled Sr. Data Engineer to join their team for a permanent, full-time engagement. This role is essential for the successful modernization of data platforms and practices, serving as a crucial point of contact for the Finance Data and Analytics Team. The project involves a significant firm‑wide technology transformation, including the introduction of AI and a shift to new cloud‑based data platforms, such as Snowflake. This is a high‑impact role that requires a self‑motivated professional who can work independently and drive change across the organization.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
Managing, evaluating, and enhancing existing finance‑related data platforms, identifying opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and cloud‑based solutions to improve scalability, accessibility, and security.
Designing, building, and maintaining robust data integration and ETL/ELT pipelines to support the creation of data warehouse and analytical data models.
Contributing to the establishment and optimization of standardized procedures for data management, governance, quality, and lifecycle management to ensure data consistency and accuracy.
Collaborating with cross‑functional teams, business units, and senior management to drive data‑driven initiatives and foster a data‑driven culture.
Monitoring and optimizing enterprise data platforms and data engineering processes to enhance data processing efficiency and overall system performance.
Required Skills & Experience
5‑7 years of experience in a senior data engineering or database architecture role.
Advanced SQL development and modeling skills, including associated tools.
Strong experience designing, building, and maintaining data integration and ETL/ELT pipelines.
Working knowledge of Python for data engineering and automation.
Experience working with cloud‑based data platforms and services, such as Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric.
Experience working with legal billing system software (ideally Adarant) is a strong plus.
Proven experience with relational database management systems and related data technologies.
Experience integrating with APIs and working with structured and semi‑structured data formats (e.g., JSON and XML).
Experience using Git or similar tools for source control and version management.
Familiarity with AI and large language model technologies.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and manage your own time effectively to meet project goals.
Strong communication skills to provide clear and concise updates to the project team.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
