Hourly rate: $33.87

The Case Worker is responsible for the ongoing management of services and Ontario Works program . This position is also responsible for completing applications for social assistance , conducting audits , maintaining records of its caseload , guiding and referring the participants as well as attending and supporting the participants in their employment activities.

• Must have a college (2 years) or university (3 years) degree specialized in Social Sciences;
• Ability to communicate easily in French and in English (orally and in writing);
• Good knowledge of principles and intervention practices applicable in the Social Work field as well as available community resources for information and references;
• Have a good knowledge and understanding of applicable laws and regulations of the various programs of the Department which are relevant to the position held;
• Have a good knowledge of the various software and computer programs which are relevant to the position held in order to complete the necessary documents for data entry ;
• Knowledge of the requirements for maintaining eligibility for Ontario Works;
• Being able to perform mathematical calculations related to case reviews and eligibility assessment;
• Demonstrate skills to conduct interviews;
• Have well developed organizational skills in order to prioritize work and organize several information;
• Must have a valid driver’s license and a vehicle.

A criminal record check must be provided upon hiring only (dated no longer than three months prior to the date of when it has been requested) and is a condition of employment.
