1. JOB OBJECTIVES
- Responsible for improving the performance, efficiency, and reliability of industrial equipment.
- Analyze operational data, identify performance losses, and implement technical and procedural solutions to maximize productivity while reducing costs and downtime.
- Support operations in day-to-day activities.
2. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
- Analyze machine performance (efficiency, speed, quality).
- Identify sources of losses (stoppages, slowdowns, defects).
- Implement continuous improvement projects (Lean, Six Sigma).
- Optimize equipment operating parameters.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, engineering, and automation teams.
- Participate in the commissioning and improvement of new machines.
- Use data analysis tools to support technical decisions.
- Reduce downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Standardize best practices and train operators, mechanics, or any groups deemed necessary.
- Initiate and implement technical optimization solutions on the line.
- Maintain a good knowledge of the production line.
- Document improvements and track results.
- Conduct reliability, maintainability, and availability studies.
- Develop equipment reliability programs tailored to the company’s needs.
- Follow up on any problematic situation or doubtful case and provide the solutions and interventions necessary for resolution.
- Suggest improvements to preventive maintenance tasks for equipment and systems.
- Carry out follow-ups with various suppliers as part of machine optimization efforts.
- Ensure proper filing and availability of technical documents for equipment and utilities.
- Participate in all actions that may lead to greater department efficiency.
- Perform any other related task deemed relevant within the scope of the position.
3. EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT AND APTITUDES
- Degree in engineering or training in maintenance and reliability management, or equivalent training deemed relevant.
- 5 to 8 years of experience in maintenance, reliability, or production engineering.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with peers.
- Good judgment, autonomy, and initiative.
- Customer satisfaction oriented.
- Knowledge of the structures and manufacturing processes of sterile pharmaceutical products.
- Knowledge of good manufacturing practices.
- Strong data and process improvement orientation.
- Industrial environment experience (manufacturing, processes, energy, etc.).
- Bilingualism (French and English) and excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with computer tools, particularly the Microsoft suite.
- Ability to synthesize information for system design and engineering.
- Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and frequent changes in priorities.
