Jr. Technical Business Analyst
Location: Houston, TX 77041 (Onsite)
Salary: $60,000
A growing kitchen and bath company is seeking a Jr. Technical Business Analyst to serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and software development teams.
This role will own projects from requirements gathering through implementation, helping translate business needs into technical solutions while coordinating developers, stakeholders, testing efforts, and project delivery. The ideal candidate combines strong business analysis skills with a solid technical foundation and is comfortable working with both business users and technical teams.
Requirements & Business Analysis
Gather and document business requirements from stakeholders across multiple departments
Translate business needs into technical specifications, user stories, workflows, process maps, and acceptance criteria
Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for system improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies
Create and maintain process documentation, business workflows, system requirements, and technical specifications
Support ERP, inventory, purchasing, sales, customer service, and e-commerce system initiatives
Assist with prioritization of enhancement requests, system improvements, and technology initiatives
Project Coordination & Delivery
Coordinate software projects from requirements through implementation
Work closely with developers to answer questions, clarify requirements, and validate completed work
Facilitate project meetings, status updates, and stakeholder communications
Track project timelines, milestones, risks, dependencies, and deliverables
Coordinate third-party vendors and software development partners as needed
Support successful delivery of technology projects across multiple business functions
Testing & Implementation
Develop test plans and acceptance criteria based on documented business requirements
Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders
Document, track, and validate issue resolution
Verify completed solutions meet business requirements before deployment
Create training materials, process documentation, and user guides when needed
Support system rollouts, enhancements, and implementation activities
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Information Systems (CIS), Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration with a technology concentration, or equivalent combination of education and experience
3+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, Systems Analyst, IT Project Coordinator, or similar role
Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into technical documentation
Experience working directly with software developers, implementation teams, or technology vendors
Understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
Ability to understand technical concepts including APIs, integrations, workflows, databases, data flows, and business systems
Strong communication, documentation, analytical, and organizational skills
Experience using project management or collaboration tools such as Jira, Monday.com, Asana, or similar platforms
Preferred Qualifications
ERP experience (NetSuite preferred)
Experience supporting inventory, purchasing, sales, order management, or operational business processes
E-commerce platform experience (Shopify a plus)
Software implementation or business systems project experience
QA testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
SQL, reporting, data analysis, or business intelligence experience
Product data, master data, or systems integration experience
Experience working in retail, wholesale distribution, manufacturing, or e-commerce environments
Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate combines business analysis and project coordination skills with a solid technical foundation. They are comfortable gathering requirements from business stakeholders, translating those requirements for developers, and understanding how systems, integrations, databases, and workflows work together.
While this role is not expected to write production code, the successful candidate should be able to communicate effectively with technical teams, understand technical documentation, ask thoughtful questions, identify potential gaps in requirements, and help ensure technology projects are delivered successfully.
