We are looking for an Information Systems Security Officer to join a growing team in Annapolis Junction, MD .
The Network Engineer Level 3 provides support for a program, organization, system, or enclave’s information assurance program. This role supports the implementation and enforcement of information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies and maintains the operational security posture of assigned systems.
The ISSO assists with security authorization activities in compliance with NIST Risk Management Framework (RMF) and applicable DoD and ODNI policies.
Responsibilities
Minimize network latency and maximize data throughput through design analysis and network performance monitoring tools.
Develop algorithms used in modules or incorporated into models associated with the research and development of technologies and systems.
Ensure that all material received is inspected for evidence of tampering and, if any is found, submit a report of suspected physical incident immediately.
Configure and maintain organization’s network diagrams and accreditations.
Integrate hardware and software to satisfy ISO 9000 requirements and other DoD/IC regulations.
Design, integrate, test, and deploy solutions to established network issues.
Optimize end‑to‑end system performance and data‑flow management.
Coordinate with appropriate data‑flow organizations and end‑customer recipients, follow‑on data repositories and tasking organizations, and mitigate potential adverse impacts on system‑wide data‑flow.
Implement specific network solutions to support server requirements, including load‑balancing, VPNs, firewall contexts, traffic shaping Voice‑over‑IP (VOIP), GRE tunneling, IP Security (IPSec) encryption, Media over IP (MoIP), and network address translation (NAT) where appropriate.
Coordinate with the system engineering and data‑flow efforts to ensure proper mission operations and minimize downtime.
Design solutions, integrate, configure, deploy, test, and provide ongoing maintenance for numerous types of network devices, interfaces, and methodologies.
Apply network acceleration techniques such as Riverbed.
Requirements
Twelve (12) years’ experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university is required.
Four (4) years of additional network engineering experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
Certifications: An IAT Level III baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01‑M is required.
US citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance are required.

Pay Range 49,996.80 – 290,004.00. Pay ranges are a general guideline and not intended as a guaranteed and/or implied final compensation or salary for this job opening. Determination of official compensation or salary relies on several different factors including, but not limited to, level of position, complexity of job responsibilities, geographic location, work experience, education, certifications, Federal Government contract labor categories, and contract wage rates.
