We own and operate the Esrange Space Center in Kiruna, northern Sweden, with the aim of launching satellites in the near future. The Software unit within SSC Space Connect develops and maintains critical systems required to connect our customers with their satellites. Our core business is to deliver satellite data to our customers, and the Data Engineering team owns critical components in this process, ensuring fast and reliable data delivery with strong observability for customers and the Network Management Center. Requirements We think you care about your systems, colleagues, and users. You have a creative and analytical mindset, take responsibility, drive your own initiatives, and can learn and process technical details quickly. You can work autonomously and collaboratively. You have a European citizenship and can travel within and outside Sweden if needed. This role may include work outside of standard hours and/or being on-call with up to 1 week on-call per month. To succeed in this role, you should have: M.S. Computer Science or Computer/Software Engineering, or similar experience 3+ years of hands-on data engineering experience Proficiency in Python and SQL Hands-on experience with setting up and operating cloud services Excellent communication skills in English We also value if you have experience with: Automation and/or workflow orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, Dagster and/or Prefect Data processing frameworks like Apache Spark/Flink/Beam or similar Dashboards and other data visualization technology, e.g. Grafana Data integration and ETL from/to interfaces like REST-APIs, databases and object storage/data lakes IoT systems integration and real-time data capture using protocols like MQTT, MODBUS etc. System administration in Linux Containerization, e.g. Docker Responsibilities We are looking for a senior data engineer to join us in the development of our new cloud-based data platform.
