Automotive Sales Representative

Promote and market the product to achieve sales under the requirements of the brand and the dealership. Provide customers with information about the product or service to determine the appropriate vehicle. Conduct sales of new or used cars on the dealership premises according to sales quota.

Essential functions:

  • Communicate assertively to the customer, presenting the brand, type and quality of the desired vehicle.
  • Explain the features and demonstrate the operation of the vehicle in the showroom or on the road.
  • Offer test drives to all potential customers and follow the dealership procedure to obtain the appropriate vehicle selection before the test drive.
  • Keep up to date with new products, features and available accessories and translate their benefits to customers.
  • Complete billing sheet, credit application, request current ID from customer and trade-in license when applicable.
  • Deliver to F&I the properly completed documentation to start the financing process, this includes but is not limited to: customer information and selected vehicle, price agreed with the Sales Manager.
  • Coordinate the preparation and delivery of the vehicle.
  • Investigate the availability of models and optional equipment using the database.
  • Assist customers entering the dealership, answering their questions and helping them select a vehicle that is suitable for their needs.
  • Sell a minimum number of vehicles based on the goals and objectives defined by the company.
  • Explain the performance, application and benefits of the product to potential customers and describe all optional equipment available for customer purchase.
  • Introduce customers to the service department staff to emphasize the quality and efficiency of the repairs and maintenance available in the service department.
  • Follow up on all post-delivery elements making a courtesy call.
  • Maintain a buyer follow-up system that fosters repeat business and commercial references and contributes to customer satisfaction.
  • Market or promote the cars that are available in the inventory to achieve the sale and awaken customer interest.
  • Responsible for knowing the inventory located in the Free Zone and sales floor.
  • Offer high quality customer service and represent the brand with its standards and requirements.
  • Make phone calls to prospects and schedule appointments.
  • Post vehicle listings on social media or websites.
  • Stay informed about market trends and competitors.
  • Meet brand certifications in a timely manner.
  • Complete sales-related documentation.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or a combination of education and sales experience.
  • Proficiency in computer programs and/or applications such as MS Office, social media.
  • Current driver's license from the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills.
  • Persuasion and negotiation skills.
