Network Engineer (Juniper Routers) Onsite role based primarily at an HPE office. The position is designed for employees who can work onsite at one of our HPE offices in Sunnyvale, CA, Westford, MA, Houston, TX, or Herndon, VA on a hybrid schedule (2‑3 days in office).
Job Overview As a Juniper Network Engineer, you will work with customers that test the limits of what can be done. You will support large‑scale networks, troubleshoot complex problems, and provide feedback on root‑cause and prevention techniques. You will collaborate with technical teams for knowledge transfer and contribute to new product and feature improvements.
Responsibilities
Handle high‑priority issues for a subset of top HPE Juniper Networks customers on specific Juniper products (MX, PTX, ACX).
Build productive and collaborative trust‑based relationships with assigned accounts.
Take ownership of high‑priority or sensitive customer issues and ensure prompt network services restoration and resolution to the customer's satisfaction using a systematic problem‑solving approach.
Work closely with various technical teams to ensure knowledge transfer of customer networks, issues, teams, and solutions while keeping management informed of all sensitive issues.
Collaborate with Juniper Networks technical teams and provide input on new products and feature improvements for reliability, availability, and serviceability.
Support Service Managers in understanding technical issues and resolution, and help drive high‑profile technical escalations.
Participate in customer conference calls and/or face‑to‑face meetings to discuss technical issues.
Develop and maintain skills in core products and technologies, and highlight any training needs as customers' networks evolve.
Contribute to technical documentation (white papers, KB, troubleshooting guides) for internal and external use.
Document technical support issues using available tools.
Maintain a “can‑do” attitude and suggest ways to improve team performance and increase customer satisfaction.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
3+ years of network support experience, with 2‑3 years supporting large IP networks.
3+ years supporting customers on site and via phone, capable of handling complex and high‑profile customers.
Strong communication, influencing, collaboration, and customer‑management skills.
Strong problem‑solving skills applicable to large and complex network scenarios.
Excellent presentation skills.
Must‑have Technical Skills
IP networking basics: TCP/IP, subnetting, IP packet flow, OSI layers.
Routing technologies: OSPF, IS‑IS, BGP, MPLS, RSVP‑TE, L3VPN, L2VPN.
Preferred Technical Skills
Working knowledge of EVPN, SR‑MPLS, SRV6.
Experience with Ixia/Spirent traffic generators, TCP replay tools, and network protocol analysis tools.
Experience with Linux, FreeBSD, and scripting languages (Shell, Python, Slax, Perl).

Compensation Expected salary range: United States – $92,700–$175,700 in Massachusetts; $92,700–$187,500 in California; $81,500–$187,500 in Texas & Virginia. Variable incentives may also be offered.
