Position Summary The Operations Analytics Analyst provides analytical support for internal operational reporting, data infrastructure maintenance, and ad hoc analysis needs across Clinical Operations, Finance, and other internal departments. This role is a core contributor to the day-to-day functioning of the Analytics team, responsible for building and maintaining queries, views, and reporting pipelines that keep internal stakeholders informed and operationally aligned.
Roles and Responsibilities Query Design and Data Preparation
Write and maintain SQL queries and analytical views against operational data sources in Databricks/Delta Lake
Define and implement data preparation logic based on requirements provided by internal stakeholders or Analytics leadership
Aggregate data across multiple sources into clean, usable datasets for reporting and analysis
Document data preparation procedures, field definitions, and query logic to support team knowledge‑sharing and continuity
Assess the quality, completeness, and usability of data prior to inclusion in work products
Data Analysis and Reporting
Support maintenance and updates to referential database tables used in operational reporting, including SLA tracking, historical inputs, and other reference data
Assist in the development and upkeep of internal dashboards and reports that provide Clinical Operations, Finance, and other departments with timely, accurate data
Support internal and external audit report preparation related to NCQA, IRR, and other compliance and quality initiatives
Collaborate with Clinical Operations, Data Engineering, and other departments to surface data quality issues and support continuous improvement of reporting infrastructure
Contribute to the automation of recurring reporting workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort
Perform ad hoc analyses varying in scope and complexity as directed by Analytics leadership or internal stakeholders
Build and maintain internal dashboards and reports using Power BI or similar tools, following established design standards
Translate analytical outputs into clear, well‑organized visualizations that support internal decision‑making
Participate in QA reviews of existing reports and dashboards to ensure continued accuracy and relevance
Work with Analytics leadership and internal stakeholders to gather requirements and refine reporting outputs over time
Database and Pipeline Support
Support the development, testing, and maintenance of analytical views and pipeline objects in the Databricks/Delta Lake environment
Conduct regular validation of data assets to ensure accuracy and currency; elevate anomalies or discrepancies to the appropriate team member
Collaborate with Data Engineering to communicate data needs, troubleshoot upstream data issues, and support infrastructure improvements
Follow established data governance practices and contribute to documentation efforts that support data quality and team scalability
Organization and Workflow Management
Manage personal workload across recurring deliverables and ad hoc requests, communicating proactively with Analytics leadership on priorities and timelines
Maintain organized, well‑documented code and analytical outputs that can be understood and maintained by other team members
Participate in team process improvement efforts by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting solutions for recurring tasks
Follow established team standards for code structure, naming conventions, and documentation
Education, Experience and Licensure
Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Analytics, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics/Statistics, or a related field preferred; Associate’s degree in the same fields required unless equivalent experience is provided
Experience in a data analyst role or equivalent analytical capacity, preferably in a health insurance or healthcare‑related environment
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and quality
Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet recurring deadlines
Effective written and verbal communication skills; able to present analytical findings clearly to internal stakeholders
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Proficient in SQL and comfortable working in a modern cloud data environment
Preferred Skills
Hands‑on experience with Databricks, Spark SQL, or equivalent cloud‑based data platforms
Working knowledge of healthcare data—including claims, medical coding, provider data, and member eligibility
Familiarity with ETL concepts and data transformation logic
Experience building reports or dashboards in Power BI or a comparable visualization tool
Demonstrated ability to write clean, efficient, well‑documented SQL across large datasets
Experience with Python for data manipulation or automation tasks is a plus
Ability to learn new tools, data structures, and business processes quickly and independently
Comfortable asking clarifying questions and escalating issues appropriately rather than making unsupported assumptions
Strong problem‑solving instincts with a desire to understand the "why" behind the data
