Role Overview The Mechanical Quality Assurance Owner's Representative will act as the owner's subject matter expert for all mechanical systems on site. This role combines technical oversight, quality assurance, constructability review, and stakeholder coordination to ensure that mechanical installations meet project specifications, industry standards, and client expectations.
The ideal candidate brings extensive experience supporting mission‑critical facilities, including hyperscale data centers, and possesses deep expertise in chilled water systems, HVAC infrastructure, mechanical equipment installation, testing, and turnover activities.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the owner's primary mechanical subject matter expert during construction.
Monitor installation quality and verify compliance with project drawings, specifications, codes, and standards.
Conduct field walks and inspections of mechanical systems and equipment.
Review mechanical submittals, RFIs, design changes, and technical documentation.
Identify quality concerns, installation deficiencies, and construction risks and work collaboratively toward resolution.
Support constructability reviews and provide technical guidance to project stakeholders.
Witness testing, startup, flushing, pressure testing, TAB activities, and equipment commissioning.
Verify readiness for system turnover and support final acceptance activities.
Track deficiencies, punch list items, and corrective actions through completion.
Collaborate with commissioning teams, contractors, design teams, and owner stakeholders.
Provide regular reporting on mechanical quality, project risks, and construction progress.

Cooling Towers
CRAH and CRAC Units
Air Handling Units (AHUs)
Hydronic Systems
Pumps and Pumping Systems
Heat Exchangers
Mechanical Piping Systems
Building Automation Systems (BAS)
HVAC Controls
Water Treatment Systems
Requirements
10+ years of experience supporting large‑scale commercial, industrial, mission‑critical, or data center construction projects.
Strong mechanical construction, commissioning, QA/QC, or owner's representative experience.
Demonstrated expertise with complex HVAC and chilled water systems.
Experience supporting data center, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or other mission‑critical facilities preferred.
Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and technical documentation.
Experience working directly with owners, contractors, design teams, and commissioning providers.
Strong communication and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to work full‑time onsite in a fast‑paced construction environment.
