Our client, a leading innovator in the
Land Mobile Radio (LMR)
industry, is seeking a
Software Engineer
to design, develop, and maintain embedded and PC software systems that drive the reliability, performance, and security of their communication products. This role involves developing software for real-time systems, voice and data encryption, device-level interaction, and system interoperability. You’ll collaborate closely with hardware engineers, product managers, and other software developers to enhance and support mission-critical communication systems used by public safety, defense, and commercial organizations worldwide. Key Responsibilities
Software Development:
Design, develop, and maintain embedded and application software, including implementing new features and resolving customer issues.
Real-Time Systems:
Develop and optimize software for
real-time, low-latency applications
required in mission-critical LMR environments.
Integration:
Integrate LMR software with radio networks, third-party APIs, and cloud-based services to ensure seamless system performance.
Testing & Debugging:
Write and execute unit tests, perform debugging, and resolve issues to maintain high system performance and reliability.
Performance Optimization:
Continuously refine software for speed, scalability, and efficiency.
Documentation:
Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for development, architecture, and troubleshooting processes.
Innovation:
Stay current on emerging technologies in
RF communications , LMR protocols, and software development best practices.
Collaboration:
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure software aligns with customer needs and product goals.
Additional Duties:
Perform related responsibilities as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
3+ years
of experience in software development, with a strong background in
embedded systems
or
real-time communication applications .
Experience in the
LMR , wireless communications, or RF technology sectors preferred.
Proficiency in C/C++, Python, or similar programming languages.
Strong understanding of networking protocols, digital signal processing, or device-level software.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative engineering environment.
