ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Design, configure, and maintain core, edge, and site network infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, and security.
Configure and manage next generation firewalls, network load balancers, and access systems.
Build and maintain data center network infrastructure, including redundancy and disaster recovery capabilities.
Assist with network design and deployment for new sites and infrastructure upgrades.
Configure and deploy networking gear across clinical and business locations.
Develop and execute test plans to validate performance and reliability of network infrastructure.
Monitor network performance and proactively identify and resolve issues.
Work with data circuit providers and vendors to escalate and resolve outages and performance problems.
Analyze packet captures and network telemetry to diagnose complex issues.
Work with IT leadership and business units to align networking solutions with strategic objectives.
Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements to cost effectiveness, flexibility, and security.
Develop and maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and standards.
Ensure network infrastructure complies with organizational security standards, HIPAA requirements, and industry best practices.
Collaborate with security and systems teams on vulnerability remediation, audits, and incident response related to network infrastructure.
Participate in on call rotation and provide after hours support as required to maintain critical infrastructure.
Occasional travel in the Central Ohio area to organizational sites may be required.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: A. Education, Licensures & Certifications
Required: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required: Demonstrated experience administering enterprise network environments.
Required: Active Ohio driver’s license with the ability to travel throughout COPC’s service area.
Preferred: Experience supporting healthcare or other highly regulated environments.
Preferred: Industry certifications such as CCNA/CCNP, HPE Aruba (wired/wireless), or Palo Alto firewall certifications.
B. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Expertise in dynamic routing and network protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, VRRP, VSF).
Strong knowledge of information security principles and networking best practices.
Excellent problem solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non technical stakeholders.
Strong documentation skills, including network diagrams and technical standards.
Ability to research and evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends.
Experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise LAN/WAN and wireless networks.
Background in managing data center networking and disaster recovery infrastructure.
Hands on experience with network troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
Foundational understanding of software defined networking solutions.
History of working in a collaborative, team oriented IT environment.
Experience with cloud networking concepts and platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
