Job Overview
We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our Professional Services Operations team. The ideal candidate will be a precision-focused problem solver who can execute next steps towards our Operations Analytics goals and a operate as a champion of clean, scalable data practices at our global organization. This role requires hands‑on experience building interactive reporting and dashboards in PowerBI that leverage developer tools and SQL, API work against our critical operations platforms. In this role you will have the opportunity to contribute to the continuous improvement of our analytics infrastructure, explore operational strategy, collaborate with executive leadership, and grow into broader ownership of operational analytics architecture at our organization.
Key Responsibilities
The Operations Data Engineer will work closely with the Professional Services Operations Manager to identify requirements for data solutions and prioritize work for execution.
Full Stack Business Intelligence (BI) Data Process
Maintain and iterate on existing analytics based on requirements from cross‑division leadership and approved stakeholder requests.
For new work and substantive changes to existing analytics data, the Operations Data Engineer will be responsible for the full stack BI data process from connecting to data sources (such as APIs) to end‑user reports and dashboards.
Leverage engineering best practices to transform and model data from various platforms used in our business, ready for use in Power BI.
Master Data Governance Program
Serve as a technical‑side master data administrator for critical components in the company's master data library by implementing unified values for critical‑fields in master data that will be aligned across all platforms. Assist Operations leadership and specialists with implementing a wider master data governance program.
Through build and maintenance of critical auditing reports and data conglomeration assist Operations leadership and specialists with implementing wider Project Management and Operational Auditing programs.
Critical Platform Integration
Maintain and expand integrations between key operational platforms ie: Asana, Atlassian Suite, Salesforce, High Spot, etc to meet needs and changes communicated by leadership and approved stakeholder requests.
Establish data as KPI's on compliance to SOP's in Asana, Atlassian Suite, Salesforce, HighSpot, AI tools, etc.
Advanced Insight Development
For advanced/emerging data on critical platforms, explore build/design of a pipeline (ETL or ELT) of API‑sourced raw data towards more usable warehouse or visualization.
With input from leadership on more advanced or future analytics goals/requirements, investigate and identify and any current bounds or limitations and capabilities of data extraction and analytics under existing licenses.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Software Engineering, or a related field.
2+ years of experience in data analytics, business analytics, or similar role.
Proficiency in implementing both new and expanded application‑to‑application multi‑field integrations on business‑critical platforms
Candidates must have applied data knowledge and familiarity with developer tools, SQL, API skills and strategies that are appliable for the platforms that flow into our critical BI analytics (Salesforce, Asana, Atlassian, Openair by NetSuite, TeamSupport, HighSpot)
Strong proficiency in SQL scripting and query optimization.
Applied experience in build, implementation and ongoing ownership of PowerBI workflows drawing from multiple sources
Candidates must be able to work proficiently and independently through all technical steps of a full‑stack business data intelligence workflow (from establishing multi‑source connections, data extraction, final configuration of the end deliverables, etc)
Excellent communication skills—written, verbal, and visual. The Operations Data Engineer must have the ability to translate complex data concepts clearly and effectively extract requirements when working with non‑technical stakeholders
Candidates must have prior experience in Data Engineering/Analysis with input from stakeholders who perform client‑facing‑functions
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with advanced experience in both the start‑to‑finish Data Engineering/Analysis process AND application‑to‑application integrations in Asana, Salesforce and/or Openair will be strongly prioritized for this role
Applicable experience in company environment that leverages PMO, Professional Services, or client‑facing implementations
