Essential Job Duties NC State University Libraries IT Department is seeking motivated undergraduate or graduate students to join the Libraries Information Technology Support team. IT Student Technicians work to assist Library patrons and staff with technology issues. IT Student Technicians are entrusted with a high level of responsibility and have the opportunity to develop creative solutions to technical challenges.
Monitor and respond to the Libraries IT Service Desk support requests.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues.
Assist with hardware, software, and network support.
Maintain IT equipment and support Libraries computing.
Successful candidates will gain hands‑on experience while working alongside professional IT staff, supporting best‑in‑class enterprise technology solutions across D.H. Hill Jr., James B. Hunt Jr., and NC State University branch libraries.

Ability to adhere to a consistent schedule with minimal lateness or absenteeism.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Experience with network and computer troubleshooting.
Experience interacting directly with customers including Students, Staff and Faculty via multiple communication channels.
Ability to document customer interaction, troubleshoot problems, and gather technical information.
