As a
System Administrator SME
at Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI), you will support a customer operating out of Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling, DC. The System Administrator serves as the Program Office's information technology and is responsible for supporting, designing, maintaining, and monitoring internal and external networks as well as implementing and managing all systems, applications, security, and network configurations. In addition, the Senior System Administrator resolves network performance issues, recommends upgrades, patches, new applications, and equipment, and provides technical support and guidance to users.
Responsibilities
Experienced and motivated IT professional with the necessary skills to support AFLCMC/C3B by independently executing IT/Systems Administrator tasks in a classified work environment.
Support the implementation, configuration, operations, and maintenance of multiple classified and unclassified networked systems.
Plan, coordinate, and install applications software and hardware for multiple classified networked systems.
Define or resolve information technology issues; provide troubleshooting/Helpdesk support to all ABMS assigned personnel.
Maintain inventory control records for all IT equipment, including current and future inventory of new software and networks.
Oversee the installation and configuration of applications software and the establishment of user environments.
Manage the installation of system patches and enhancements/updates and ensure system integrity is not compromised.
Provide proactive consultation and instruction with system users to ensure seamless implementation of changes.
Provide secure video teleconferencing (VTC) support.
Qualifications
12+ years of relevant System Administration for DoD networks.
Security+ Certification.
Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, FTP, SSH, IP CONFIG).
Experience in Technical Support, Cloud Computing, Information Security, and Compliance.
Installing, configuring, and managing network switches and routers (versed in OSPF, MPLS, SDN, routing/switching on Juniper and Cisco hardware platforms).
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree with 16 years of Sys Admin experience or Master's Degree with 12 years of Sys Admin experience.
Clearance Requirements
Active Top‑Secret clearance with SCI and SAP eligibility.
At least 12 months of Special Access Programs (SAP) experience within the last 3 years.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
