Job Description POSITION SUMMARY:
The Technical Facilities Systems Administrator bridges the gap between physical facility systems and the district's network infrastructure. This role, as a vital member of the IT Department, is responsible for installing, maintaining, and administering building communication, security, and audiovisual systems. This position works in close coordination with the district’s network and server administrators to ensure physical endpoints are securely integrated, programmed, and maintained on the district's network.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner with server specialists to manage security camera backups, server resources for video storage, and efficient video streaming practices
Complete professional installation, configuration, and maintenance of interactive displays, projectors, and projector screens
Handle physical network infrastructure tasks, including the precise installation, termination, and testing of ethernet, fiber optic, and communications cabling.
Maintain a safe, secure, and hazard‑free environment across all building premises, including sidewalks, driveways, and outdoor recreational areas
Administer, program, and maintain the district's electronic access control (key card) systems, video surveillance cameras, and physical intrusion alarms
Manage equipment lifecycles and physical installation of new IP surveillance cameras and related hardware for secured entries
Serve as the primary liaison for technology and security integration vendors to evaluate project proposals, coordinate system maintenance, and provide technical and strategic recommendations to the Director of Technology
Manage and maintain the district's two‑way radio communication fleet (including handheld radios, charging bays, and repeaters) to ensure reliable communication for district staff.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Technical expertise in configuring, mounting, and integrating enterprise audiovisual systems, interactive displays, digital signage, and smart classroom/conference technologies
Strong mechanical aptitude with basic electrical and carpentry skills necessary for physical installations and device mounting
Proficiency with the Windows operating system and basic computing tasks
Experience with video surveillance systems, access control databases, and network configuration tools
Demonstrated ability to self‑start and work independently as well as collaborate effectively within a team environment
High adaptability and flexibility when navigating changing work assignments and priorities
Must be able to lift 80lbs
Ability to remain on your feet and active for extended periods of time throughout the workday
Physical agility required to stoop, bend and climb ladders
Demonstrated ability to handle information with utmost confidentiality
Must be resilient and capable of working across all weather conditions and climates.

Exempt
Minimum Salary - $58,482 (higher placement based on prior relevant experience)
