IT System Administrator Level I Job Description: IT System Administrators are responsible for the implementation and technical support of Enterprise’s server infrastructure. This includes, but is not limited to, support of Windows Server OS, Microsoft Hyper‑V, VMWare ESX, Office 365, Azure and storage systems. Administrators use tools such as vCenter, SolarWinds, Active Directory administration tools, and PowerShell to manage environments. Responsibilities Day‑to‑day support of server operating systems and related software and hardware. Troubleshoot application and operating system problems. Document system configurations and operational procedures to ensure standardized processes. Provide Level2 support to the IT Service Desk. Administer on‑premises Exchange and Exchange Online tenant, including mailbox configuration. Work with IT team members to address, resolve, and acknowledge alerts from monitoring tools such as SolarWinds. Install, configure, and decommission servers following Server Lifecycle Provisioning processes. Schedule server OS refreshes and upgrades. Support and maintain Windows and Azure Active Directory environments. Evaluate system specifications to ensure compatibility with hardware, software, and security standards. Collaborate with the network team to troubleshoot site‑related networking issues. Collaborate with the security team to address vulnerabilities reported by security tools. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Critical thinking and decision‑making skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficiency with Windows Server and hypervisor technologies. Experience with Windows and Azure Active Directory. Knowledge of cloud technologies such as Azure and/or AWS. Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and other networking concepts. Ability to work independently. Education and Experience 1–3 years of experience. Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred. Work Environment This is an office position associated with a manufacturing facility. The employee may spend a portion of time in the office and may also be required to work in the manufacturing area. Personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn and used correctly in the manufacturing area. Physical Demands The employee sits at a desk and uses a computer for prolonged periods, frequently using close vision, speech, hearing, and dexterity.
