The Production Manager is responsible for leading manufacturing operations to achieve company objectives related to safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and employee development. This position oversees multiple production areas and works closely with cross-functional teams to ensure resources, processes, and personnel are aligned to meet customer commitments and business goals.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, develops strong frontline leaders, and continuously seeks opportunities to improve operational performance.
Manufacturing Leadership- Provide leadership and direction to production supervisors and manufacturing teams across multiple operational areas.
- Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement throughout the production organization.
- Establish clear performance expectations and ensure alignment with company objectives.
- Spend significant time on the production floor supporting supervisors, removing barriers, and driving operational execution.
- Support employee development through coaching, mentoring, performance feedback, and succession planning efforts.
- Participate in workforce planning activities, including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and talent development.
- Lead daily manufacturing activities to ensure production schedules, quality standards, and customer delivery requirements are achieved.
- Coordinate resources across departments to maximize throughput and maintain efficient workflow.
- Monitor production performance and proactively address issues that impact schedule attainment, efficiency, or product quality.
- Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance teams to resolve operational challenges.
- Ensure manufacturing processes are executed in accordance with established procedures and work instructions.
- Review operational data and production metrics to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.
- Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all production areas.
- Ensure employees receive appropriate training and follow established safety procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Investigate workplace incidents, implement corrective actions, and drive preventive measures.
- Support employee engagement initiatives that strengthen communication, morale, and team performance.
- Collaborate with Human Resources regarding employee relations matters, attendance concerns, performance management, and policy administration.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts focused on productivity, quality, safety, cost reduction, and on-time delivery.
- Lead initiatives that improve manufacturing flow, reduce waste, and enhance overall operational effectiveness.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles and problem-solving methodologies to address recurring issues.
- Monitor key performance indicators and develop action plans to achieve department and company goals.
- Evaluate equipment, labor utilization, and process capabilities to support future growth and operational scalability.
- Champion standardization efforts that improve consistency, efficiency, and product quality across the organization.

Requirements
Associate's degree or equivalent experience in supervisory role. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operation, or Business preferred.
Experience leading teams or projects is strongly desired but not required
Lean manufacturing and continuous process improvement experience (preferred)
10+ years production experience, 5+ years supervisory experience
Self-starter. Able to work with minimal supervision
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Strong leadership skills
Ability to coordinate and monitor a high level or activity as demonstrated under a variety of conditions and restraints
Ability to analyze and solve problems and comprehend complex instructions with schematic drawings
Relates well to others, including as appropriate, peers, supervisors, subordinates, customers and suppliers
Responds appropriately to unexpected and/or continuing situations which develop in the work environment
Ability to work collaboratively with others
Effective written and verbal communication
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Physical requirements
Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms-length
Climb or balance
Stoop, kneel and crouch
Must be able to climb a ladder to access equipment
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
