About the Role:
We are seeking a full time Quality Coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the quality assurance and quality control functions of the laboratory. This individual will work with QA Manager to implement the quality programs and make necessary updates to maintain compliance with corporate quality program and lab accreditation, where applicable. The position is also responsible for various laboratory testing. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Ensure critical equipment/instrumentation and/or chemicals are SI traceable and purchased from ISO/IEC 17025 accredited vendors. Maintain local calibration and/or verification schedules for critical instrumentation and/or equipment. Ensure third party calibrations/verifications are performed by approved vendors. Provide staff training as required for in-house calibration and/or verifications. Monitor local calibration and verification logs. Conduct weekly, monthly, and annual internal audits on all local methods as per the internal Audit Schedule provided by the appropriate QA Manager. Maintain Certificate of Analysis records for purchased chemicals and equipment/instrumentation. Maintain the calibration status of any equipment at their specific location. Provide SOP training as needed/required. Train and/or provide refresher training to staff on the QAM and SQPs. Manager - train applicable staff on accreditation requirements. Initiate Corrective Action whenever departures from the quality management system are identified. This involves conducting thorough root cause investigation, short- and long-term correction and implementing preventative action to limit the likelihood of a repeat nonconformance of the same nature. Set up, evaluate and monitor Statistical Process Control (SPC) charts for each method and instrument/equipment as appropriate. Initiate Preventative Action and Continual Improvement suggestions. Attend and participate in quality meetings as required. Participate in shift hand overs to ensure smooth transition. Identify continuous improvement activities for the site. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: High school diploma/GED is required. Laboratory experience is preferred. Physical Demands: The ability to stand for intervals of up to 8 hours while working. Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with co-workers and managers. Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate equipment and handle glassware. Must have average vision and able to see to read reports and operate equipment. Hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone.
