Required Minimum of 12 years with BS/BA in a relevant technical discipline; Minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 7 years with PhD Active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance, with polygraph 5+ years in Network Engineering (LAN/WAN, Communications, Computer Systems, Cross Domain), Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent work experience Strong background in CI/CD in relationship to Cross Domain Solutions and general software development Sound judgement, problem solving, and decision-making skills with an ability to adapt to emerging issues and changing priorities under short deadlines Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and stay abreast of leading-edge technologies Experience with network security technologies, such as: Firewalls (configuration, rule management) Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) Secure network architecture design Strong understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, etc.), architectures (LAN, WAN, WLAN), and devices (routers, switches, firewalls)
Desired Experience with both on-premise and cloud deployment technologies and automation Detailed oriented, organized, able to multitask, and adaptable to shifting requirements Flexibility – works well both independently and as a team player; must be eager to learn Candidate should be a self-starter and possess a willingness to dive into new technologies when appropriate Experience implementing and documenting standard operating procedures of systems or networks (e.g., Linux, Window, Cloud platforms etc.) The Opportunity Peraton is seeking a talented Network Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, VA to assist with the client’s complex infrastructure, with expertise spanning multiple critical domains, including custom cross-domain architecture. Your work will focus on designing, engineering and implementation of complex mission networks. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the intricacies and interdependencies within these systems, enabling informed decision-making and providing strategic guidance Spend a significant amount of time dedicated towards assisting improving reliability in each of the systems and researching root-cause of Tier 2 related tickets Foster collaborative partnerships across functional teams and identify opportunities to build efficiencies into innovative IT systems that support the cyber mission systems Required to participate in the 24/7 duty phone rotation – estimated at 3x per year
