IT Security Analyst/System Administrator Closing Date: 05/28/2026
Salary: $8,567 - $10,371 per month
Full‑time, 100%, 12 months
Primary Purpose To evaluate, design, and assist in the development and implementation of information security solutions for the District, and to assist in the design, installation, and maintenance of enterprise server systems.
Responsibilities
Develop, implement, and maintain information security program standards and procedures.
Perform incident response and remediation support.
Conduct auditing, reporting, documentation, and review of security vulnerabilities and threats; perform vulnerability scans of data networks and computing devices.
Collaborate with systems, network, and applications staff to correct security‑related vulnerabilities and events.
Provide leadership, technical advice, and problem‑solving assistance to technical staff regarding security program standards and procedures.
Act as a technical liaison with District and campus staff to facilitate security programs.
Ensure systems software is correctly installed, configured, tested, and tuned to maximize security and efficiency.
Participate in design, selection, implementation, and maintenance of new security products and technologies.
Assist senior personnel with planning, design, development, coding, testing, debugging, and implementation of complex systems administration for various operating systems.
Monitor, evaluate, and maintain systems to ensure minimal production interruption and maximum performance and availability.
Apply emerging technologies as needed to perform duties efficiently.
Participate in District/College diversity and inclusion efforts.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field AND a minimum of three years of experience in programming, operating systems, and data communications networks, including leadership experience.
OR Associate’s degree in the same fields AND a minimum of five years of experience in the same areas, including leadership experience.
Commitment to diversity and demonstrated sensitivity to diverse backgrounds.
Desirable Qualifications
Monitoring and investigation of alerts on Microsoft Defender XDR.
Responding to security incidents: triage, containment, remediation, and documentation.
Managing and optimizing Entra ID security: Conditional Access, MFA, identity protection.
Operating and tuning Purview DLP, sensitivity labels, insider risk, and data governance controls.
Experience with Microsoft 365 security and compliance tools.
Knowledge of cloud‑native logging, monitoring, and threat detection across multiple cloud environments.
Familiarity with MITRE ATT&CK framework and lateral movement mitigation.
Ability to partner with IT and cross‑functional teams to drive security initiatives.
Experience managing or contributing to security projects.
Strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate.
