POSITION SUMMARY The Scribe supports the physician during patient exams by accurately documenting medical information in the electronic health record (EHR), allowing providers to focus more directly on patient care. This role also assists the clinical team with administrative and patient care responsibilities including obtaining patient histories, performing preliminary testing, scheduling appointments, and preparing exam rooms. WHAT WE OFFERStarting wage of $X based on previous experience 6.5 paid holidays per year + 2 floating holidays Approximately 10 days of PTO within the first year Comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, vision, and 401(k) Company-paid certification and career growth opportunities Hands-on clinical experience in a growing healthcare specialty Supportive team environment with ongoing training and development ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIESAccurately document patient information in the EHR during exams as dictated by the physician Assist optometrists and ophthalmologists with patient care and procedures Escort patients to Optical and communicate the doctor’s recommendations to the Optician Coordinate scheduling and monitor patient flow throughout the office while communicating delays professionally Prepare and maintain exam rooms, including cleaning instruments and monitoring supplies and medications Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming environment for patients and staff Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by leadership SUPPLEMENTARY RESPONSIBILITIES Based on patient volume and office needs, additional responsibilities may include: Preparing patients for examinations and vision therapy Instructing patients on medications, tests, and procedures with professionalism and confidentiality Performing vision screenings and diagnostic testing Collecting patient medical history and entering information into the EHR Assisting with phones, appointment scheduling, recalls, and patient communications Occasional travel to support nearby offices, as needed EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalent required Previous optometry or ophthalmology experience preferred, but not required WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FITStrong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused attitude Comfortable learning new technology and EHR systems Ability to multitask and remain adaptable in a fast-paced environment Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to learn and grow Passion for helping others and providing exceptional patient care PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT (per ADA guidelines)Physical Activity Standing for extended periods, stooping, grasping, lifting, talking, and hearing are regularly required. Physical Requirements Light work requiring the ability to regularly lift: Up to 15 pounds from floor to waist Up to 5 pounds from waist to shoulder Up to 5 pounds from shoulder to overhead
