Special Education Paraprofessional (HCA)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support students with special needs at Eaton Rapids High School. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and other staff to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. This full-time position requires a strong commitment to the success and well-being of students with diverse learning needs.

Building: Eaton Rapids High School

Date of Availability: August 2025

Rate of Pay: $14.32 Base

Hours: 6.75 hours per day

Candidate Qualifications:

• Training in crisis prevention intervention preferred
• Training/experience in special education of elementary school students preferred
• Ability to work with, and under the supervision of, regular and special education staff
• Ability to provide tutorial and group instruction
• Must be consistent with effective discipline
• Must be a self-directed worker
• Previous experience working with emotionally impaired students in an instructional capacity required
• Must be physically fit

Duties Include:

• Classroom instructional assistance to disabled and non-disabled students under teacher supervision
• Assist with classroom management
• Preparation of individualized/accommodated instructional materials
• Preparation of lesson materials under direction of teacher
• Assist with the implementation of behavior management protocols and plans
• Provide assistance with personal care of students, including toileting, may be required.
• Other administratively assigned duties
