Job Overview Position: HW/SW Design Engineer (Waynesboro, VA) – 100% on‑site.
Relocation assistance may be available.
Travel: 10% of time.
Clearance required: U.S. Government Secret Clearance and Special Program Access.
Roles and Responsibilities
Design creative and flexible HW/SW solutions with a motivated team of experts.
Develop software covering real‑time data analytics, pre and post processing, UI/UX design, instrument drivers, utilities, process automation, and firmware for simulation and control.
Integrate SW/HW components and perform requirements verification.
Support investigation, resolution, and documentation of product anomalies.
Consider Design to Cost throughout the development cycle.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 14 years of experience, Master’s with 12 years, Ph.D. with 10 years in STEM or related fields; or 4 years of experience may substitute for a degree.
U.S. citizenship required.
Ability to obtain/maintain a U.S. Government Secret Clearance.
Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP).
Experience with SDLC and Agile methodology.
Proficiency in C, C#, C++, and Python.
Experience with software integration.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in Engineering or a related STEM discipline.
Hands‑on troubleshooting experience.
Experience with PLC/HMI software (e.g., RS View, RS Logix 5000).
Experience with hardware driver development.
Experience with FPGA programming.
Firmware design experience a plus.
Experience with RTOS.
Experience with LabWindows CVI or AMAX.
Technical lead experience.
Active Secret clearance.
