Seeking a highly experienced
Data Lead
to take ownership of the end-to-end delivery, execution, and technical leadership of the
Symphony Data Platform
initiative.
This is a
hands-on technical leadership role , not a project management or administrative position. The ideal candidate will serve as the primary point of accountability across platform delivery, architecture, engineering, and analytics while remaining actively engaged in technical design, problem-solving, and platform optimization.
The Data Lead will oversee a team of architects, engineers, business analysts, and QA professionals while driving modernization, performance optimization, and platform scalability initiatives through Phase 2 and beyond. Key Responsibilities Own the end-to-end delivery, coordination, and execution of the Symphony Data Platform Lead all technical workstreams across data engineering, architecture, analytics, and platform optimization Manage and mentor a cross-functional team of 10+ resources, including engineers, architects, business analysts, and QA professionals Drive Phase 2 priorities, including:
Refactoring and modernization of existing solutions Phase 1 production support and maintenance Performance optimization and scalability improvements
Serve as the primary escalation point and trusted technical advisor for client stakeholders Establish and enforce engineering standards, development best practices, automation frameworks, and reusable patterns Proactively identify delivery risks, dependencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement Coordinate day-to-day platform execution with minimal oversight from client leadership Ensure adherence to metadata-driven architecture principles and platform standards Present technical strategy, delivery status, program health, and key decisions to executive and business stakeholders Provide hands-on guidance in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical problem-solving Required Qualifications Must-Have Skills & Experience 10+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Analytics, Data Platform Delivery, or related technical leadership roles Proven success leading large-scale enterprise data platform implementations from inception through production Strong hands-on expertise with:
Apache Spark Scala SQL
Deep experience with Azure Synapse Analytics Strong understanding of:
Data Warehousing Data Modeling Metadata-Driven Architectures Enterprise Data Platforms
Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams with minimal client-side governance Experience driving delivery in code-first development environments Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills Ability to operate as both a strategic leader and hands-on technical contributor Preferred Qualifications Experience with Microsoft Fabric Background supporting Marketing Analytics, Consumer Analytics, or Customer Data Platforms Experience within Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) organizations Experience building reusable frameworks, automation solutions, and platform standards Strong architectural design and modernization experience Education Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field Equivalent professional experience will also be considered
