Join a dedicated healthcare team in the heart of the Midwest region as a Clinical Intern under the guidance of a licensed nurse. This entry-level role offers hands-on experience in patient care, supporting individuals across various age groups and developmental stages. Key Responsibilities
Assist patients with daily hygiene including bathing, hair care, oral hygiene, and grooming. Provide skin care while taking precautions to prevent breakdown. Support physical activities such as repositioning, ambulation, range of motion exercises, and transfers. Help meet nutritional needs by preparing patients for meals, assisting with feeding, and monitoring dietary restrictions. Collect specimens, perform vital signs, and document intake and output accurately. Perform sit baths, postmortem care, and apply therapeutic devices like TED hose and ice packs. Lead and encourage participation in performance improvement initiatives. Carry out technical nursing procedures within credentialed scope, including oxygen therapy, catheter insertion/removal, IV discontinuation, suctioning, dressing changes, wound care, injections, and NG tube maintenance. Conduct patient assessments and collaborate closely with primary nurses. Educate patients and families alongside nursing staff. Document all care activities thoroughly and promptly in medical records.
Education Currently enrolled in a nursing program or completed nursing education without meeting licensing requirements. Experience Entry-level position; no prior experience required. Certification/License Not applicable. Mental and Physical Requirements This role demands considerable mental focus and physical stamina, including frequent heavy lifting, walking, and various movements such as stooping and reaching. Working Conditions Exposure to infectious diseases, radiation, and potentially hostile situations may occur. Frequent contact with blood and bodily fluids is expected, with minimal physical discomfort overall.
