Job Type Part-time Description 1. Assists residents/patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), which may include bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. 2. Aids residents/patients with mobility and transfers, including walking, using a wheelchair, and repositioning in bed. 3. Supports resident's/patient's nutritional needs by feeding them, providing assistance with eating, and monitoring food intake. 4. Aids residents/patients with medication reminders. 5. Measures and records vital signs, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, weight, and respiration rates, and documents and reports any abnormal results or significant changes to nursing staff. 6. Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of resident/patient information. 7. Collaborates with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care. 8. Follows proper infection control protocols, including hand hygiene, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a clean and sanitary environment. 9. Adheres to safety guidelines to prevent falls, accidents, and injuries to residents/patients and self. 10. Recognizes and reports any potential hazards or safety concerns in the resident's/patient's environment. 11. Completes echocardiograms (EKGs) as directed if properly trained and participates in regularly scheduled competency trainings. 12. Participate in quality assurance and process improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety. Requirements Qualifications for Employment:Qualifications for employment include the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform a job, which are generally demonstrated through qualifying experience, education, or training.
Knowledge of:
o Infection control protocols. o Best practices in transferring and positioning residents/patients safely to prevent injury. o Medical terminology as it relates to the position. o Proper use of medical equipment, including blood pressure monitors, mobility aids, etc.
Skill to:
o Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and feeding. o Monitor and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration. o Document patient information accurately.
Ability to:
o Provide compassionate and person-centered care to patients of all ages. o Listen attentively, show empathy, and respond appropriately to residents'/patients' needs and concerns. o Maintain confidentiality and ethical standards. o Recognize and report signs of distress, pain, or adverse reactions to nursing staff. Required Certifications and Licenses: Active and unencumbered CNA license issued by the State of Nevada and current BLS certification are required.
