Join a dynamic healthcare team in the Midwest region as a Clinical Intern, where you will gain hands-on experience under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This entry-level role offers a unique opportunity to develop essential nursing skills while providing compassionate care to patients of varying ages and developmental needs. Key Responsibilities
Assist patients with daily hygiene including bathing, hair care, oral hygiene, and grooming. Provide skin care and take precautions to prevent skin breakdown. Support physical activities such as repositioning, ambulation, range of motion exercises, and transfers. Help meet nutritional needs by preparing patients for meals, assisting with feeding, and monitoring dietary restrictions. Collect specimens, perform vital signs, and document intake and output accurately. Perform sit baths, postmortem care, and apply therapeutic devices like ted hose and ice packs. Lead and support performance improvement initiatives and foster teamwork. Carry out technical nursing procedures within credentialing scope, including oxygen therapy, catheter insertion/removal, IV discontinuation, suctioning, dressing changes, wound care, injections, and NG tube maintenance. Conduct patient assessments and collaborate closely with primary nurses. Educate patients and families in coordination with nursing staff. Document all care activities thoroughly and promptly, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Education Currently enrolled in a nursing program or completed nursing education but not yet licensed. Experience Entry-level position; no prior experience required. Certification/License Not applicable. Mental and Physical Requirements This role demands considerable mental focus and physical stamina, including frequent heavy lifting, walking, and various movements such as stooping and reaching. Working Conditions Exposure to infectious diseases, radiation, and potentially hostile situations may occur. Minimal physical discomfort is expected.
