Job Summary: Deliver exceptional healthcare services by utilizing ionizing radiation to perform diagnostic imaging for licensed practitioners. This role involves operating radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images essential for patient diagnosis and care. Essential Responsibilities:
Conduct diagnostic radiographic procedures, ensuring patient history aligns with the imaging performed and documenting all relevant information. Prepare and instruct patients to achieve optimal imaging results while minimizing anxiety and ensuring comfort. Operate radiography equipment and accessories skillfully to complete procedures effectively. Position patients appropriately to highlight anatomical areas of interest, considering patient comfort and ability. Immobilize patients when necessary to ensure accurate imaging. Determine and apply correct radiographic exposure factors. Implement radiation safety principles to protect patients, self, and others from unnecessary exposure. Assess image quality and verify proper identification on radiographs. Attend to patients' physical and psychological needs throughout procedures. Practice aseptic techniques as required and perform venipunctures when necessary. Prepare, identify, and administer contrast media under licensed practitioner guidance. Assist licensed practitioners with interventional and fluoroscopic procedures, including non-interpretive fluoroscopy. May perform catheter anchoring and initiate basic life support if needed. Educate patients by explaining tests and procedures clearly. Maintain assigned work areas, report equipment issues, and manage supply restocking. Provide practical instruction to students and healthcare professionals. Participate actively in quality assessment and improvement initiatives within the department. Adhere to all applicable standards and policies, including on-call duties as required. Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited School of Radiographic Technology. Proficient computer skills. Licensure and Certifications:
Certified by the relevant state authority. Active student license at start date from an accredited Radiography program. Registry eligible and must obtain R.T.(R) ARRT certification within six months of hire.
Work Shift: First shift, part-time (32 hours per week). This position is located in a regional healthcare setting within the Midwest United States.
