THE ROLE: We are seeking an experienced Robotics Software Architect to define and drive the software architecture for next‑generation robotic platforms. In this role, you will design scalable, high‑performance software stacks that enable autonomous robotic systems across industrial and edge environments.
You will work across hardware, middleware, and application layers to architect robust robotic systems, integrating sensors, compute platforms, and control frameworks. The ideal candidate has deep experience with modern robotics software frameworks, real‑time systems, and distributed architectures, and is passionate about building reliable, low‑latency systems for autonomous operation.
This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Software Architecture Design: Design and develop software architecture for robotic applications, ensuring scalability, low latency, and performance.
Integration and Optimization: Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration of sensor‑actuator loops and optimize performance for robotic use cases.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance in software architecture best practices, focusing on Robotic Operating Systems (ROS/ROS2), real‑time operating systems, hypervisor technologies, and distributed robotics systems.
Performance Analysis: Analyze and optimize software stack performance, particularly in real‑time, virtualized, and autonomous navigation environments.
Industry Trends: Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in robotics software frameworks, automation, AI/ML integration, and IPC, offering insights and recommendations.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Robotics Frameworks: Proven experience in software architecture using ROS, ROS2.
Real‑Time Operating Systems (RTOS): Experience with designing and implementing solutions in RTOS environments.
Hypervisor Technologies: Strong knowledge and hands‑on experience with hypervisors and virtualization technologies, including Virtio, for isolating safety‑critical robotic functions.
Industrial PC (IPC) Systems: Expertise in designing and implementing solutions for Industrial PC systems acting as primary robotic controllers.
Problem‑Solving Skills: Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail in debugging complex hardware‑software interactions.
Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
