Job Title Technology Solution Engineer – RedHat
Location Austin, Texas, United States
Job Summary Technical Solution Sales Representative (Solutions Architect) supporting Red Hat at IBM’s Digital Sales Center in Austin, TX. Acts as the technical expert and advisor to clients, sales teams and partners, driving solution design, pre‑sales workshops, and proof‑of‑concept engagements to secure revenue and promote IBM/RedHat solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Through continuous personal development, become a subject‑matter expert and trusted advisor to the team, clients and business partners.
Collaborate closely with account managers, solutions sales specialists and inside sales associates to define, design and detail the technical aspects and feasibility of proposed solutions.
Drive sales process continuation and excellence.
Deliver pre‑sales solution workshops, product demonstrations, technical education and Proof of Concept engagements that articulate the business value of the proposed solution.
Understand RedHat’s points of view, competition and position RedHat’s unique value proposition.
Lead solutions enablement for the team and share knowledge so that members can learn.
Apply technical and sales knowledge to create and deliver proof points to assist with deal progression and closure in order to achieve revenue targets.
Drive client satisfaction so clients become promoters of IBM solutions.
Keep product knowledge updated and articulate value proposition/ROI based on competitive landscape knowledge.
Share knowledge with team members to foster learning.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience in pre‑sales, sales engineering or technology consulting.
Ability to interpret and articulate customer business and technical needs.
Understanding of complex enterprise solutions and architectures.
Proven knowledge of UNIX, Windows or Linux based systems, preferably in RedHat platform offerings (RHEL, OpenShift, Ansible).
Experience with configuration management and running own demo environments, preferably in RedHat Ansible Automation Platform, Puppet, Chef or similar technologies.
Sales‑oriented process and customer‑direct pre‑sales.
Strong English communication skills.
Results‑driven, collaborative team player attitude.
2–3 years of experience in a technical presales or support role focused on DevOps, cloud computing and PaaS or CaaS technologies.
Knowledge of key DevOps technologies including Linux containers, container management, security, CI and CD tooling.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
Familiarity with cloud platforms and the ability to design and deliver client solutions.
Experience with emerging technologies such as AI, blockchain or IoT and understanding of their potential applications.
Understanding of industry trends and market analysis to inform solution design and sales strategies.
Benefits & Compensation
Competitive salary range: $80,000 - $138,000 per year.
