Evans & Chambers Technology is actively seeking a highly motivated Cloud Data Engineer to join our team. The role requires design, planning, and execution of data exploitation workflows into the Intelligence Community's Commercial Cloud Services (C2S).
Clearance Required: TS/SCI with CI Poly
Location: Reston, VA (on-site)
The Cloud Data Engineer must understand relational databases, NoSQL databases, and cloud storage solutions. Ideal candidates are experienced with cloud data warehouse implementation, data acquisition, data tagging, and archival. This position will work closely with the Cloud System Administrator and the Database Engineer to use emerging best practices in cloud data storage to streamline data accessibility in a multi‑cloud environment.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and at least 4 years' experience, or 9 years in lieu of a Bachelor's
Required certification: DoD 8140.01 IAT Level II or higher (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP) or willingness to obtain within 90 days of hire
Required certification: AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or equivalent
Desired certification: AWS Certified Big Data – Specialty or equivalent
Experience designing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing relational database solutions (PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server)
Experience designing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing NoSQL solutions (MongoDB)
Experience designing, deploying, maintaining, and optimizing cloud data storage solutions
Competence with AWS infrastructure‑as‑code tools (CloudFormation, AWS CDK)
Development skills in Python, Bash
Experience with Linux and Windows operating systems
