Job Description Summary
The Next Generation Products (NGP) organization is responsible for the design, analysis, integration, and support of future military engine products. The NGP Lead Design Engineer owns the design, development, and qualification of advanced military products, specifically engine externals and configuration components. The engineer is responsible for executing technical design tasks including analysis and manufacturing support of assigned hardware, in addition to program management of hardware cost, weight, and schedule deliverables. The position reports to an engineering manager in Evendale, OH with the opportunity to integrate with various internal and external engineering disciplines. Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements. This work includes mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products. Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Use prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy. Understand key business drivers and apply that understanding to accomplish own work. Understand how own team's work integrates with other teams and contributes to the area. Use judgment and propose solutions outside set parameters with guidance. Solve straightforward tasks using prior experience and on-the-job training. Demonstrate access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. Use multiple internal sources outside own team to arrive at decisions. Provide informal guidance to new team members. A job at this level is likely an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader capable of hiring and developing talent. Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college. Minimum of 3 years of experience in design engineering. Due to the nature of the duties, the role requires the individual to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship. Preference will be given to candidates who currently hold U.S. Government Security Clearance. Desired Characteristics
Experience with configuration design. Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills. Additional Information
This role requires access to U.S. export‑controlled information.
