Under the direction of the V.P. of Sales, the Inside Sales & Procurement Representative is responsible for managing select new and existing Factory Built accounts from the office, while working in conjunction with Outside Sales Representatives, and the branches, to maintain and grow business in the Factory Built channel. This position is also responsible for the replenishment and inventory management of designated product lines, price negotiation and supply of products to support the needs of our Factory Built customers. This position will take an active role in training and educating the branches on assigned products, services, and strategies specific to this channel. Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of OrePac's pricing structure and services. Follow up on all generated quotes to ensure that the customer is being serviced and to anticipate potential opportunities to earn new business. Demonstrate and introduce new products, services, and developments to established and new accounts as needed. Participate fully in training sessions, meetings, skill building, and professional development. Process cancellations or changes in quotes and sales orders and communicate the changes with appropriate departments. Process customer quotes, orders, and RMA's when needed. Coordinate and resolve customer concerns, including delivery errors, short shipments, and returns of damaged product. Demonstrate thorough product knowledge in all communications. Create and approve purchase orders to replenish assigned products using a combination of historical trends, current demand, and provided sales forecasts. Provide accurate and proactive communication with branches on the status of purchase orders, products, and product supply matters. Provide technical product information to internal & external parties. Maintain a clear view of the competitive landscape and the ability to effectively communicate OrePac's value proposition, including but not limited to, effective use of available marketing resources, product offerings, and sales strategies. Assess customers' wholesale inventory needs and offer solutions specific to the channel's needs to increase their business with OrePac Building Products. Identify and support customer sales needs including educational presentations, product education, providing literature, marketing supplies, samples, price pages, etc. Develop and leverage effective and productive working relationships with staff and office support personnel at customer locations and OrePac branches; encourage and assist in their training and development when possible. Ability to travel throughout the assigned territory at least 25% of the time. Knowledge base in building materials is preferred; specific knowledge of doors especially appreciated. Strong customer service orientation with excellent telephone personality skills. Reasoned decision-making, problem resolution, and creative thinking skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, safety rules, professional journals, and technical procedures. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and/or employees of the organization. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume; ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry. Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Minimum 3 years of sales or customer service experience, preferably in building materials. Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required. Any combination of education, training, or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position will be accepted in place of the education and/or experience requirements listed for this role. Regularly required to see, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, the ability to adjust focus, and peripheral vision. Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary. Occasionally required to lift/move/manipulate up to 50 pounds and team lift/move/manipulate up to 100 pounds. Occasionally required to bend, reach, and climb tall ladders and stairs. Mileage and business use reimbursement. Cell phone. This position operates in a professional office environment and onsite in the construction field. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones. The work environment is generally quiet but can be loud when in the construction field. This position requires travel throughout the assigned territory at least 25% of the time. All employees are expected to wear clothing appropriate for the nature of OrePac business and the type of work being performed. Clothing should be neat, clean, and tasteful. Report all incidents and accidents to one's immediate supervisor immediately or within 24 hours. Maintain the work area in a safe and healthful condition. Report, and whenever possible correct, unsafe working conditions to branch leadership. Operate vehicles while in the course of employment in a safe and lawful manner. Provide assistance to reduce or eliminate workplace hazards. Comply with company drug testing policies and procedures. Comply with company Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policies.
