Bilingual (Spanish) Speech and Language Pathologist – Elementary School The District is seeking a qualified Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) Speech and Language Pathologist to provide therapy services to elementary students in both general education and special education settings. The Speech and Language Pathologist will be responsible for conducting evaluations, interpreting and reporting assessment results, and participating in eligibility and educational planning decisions for students with speech and language impairments. This role includes the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), as well as collaboration with teachers, families, and related service providers. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical expertise, effective communication skills, and a commitment to supporting students in a collaborative, student-centered environment. All responsibilities must be carried out in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Qualifications:
Bilingual in Spanish (required) Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech-Language Pathology endorsement Bilingual endorsement (or eligibility) Master's or Doctoral degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)-accredited program
Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative speech and language services to students Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations in accordance with timelines Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals Maintain accurate and compliant documentation Collaborate with staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams Participate in IEP meetings and other required conferences Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations
Requirements:
Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Spanish Ability to work effectively in a team-based environment
Physical Demands:
Ability to read and communicate effectively with employees of the District. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions provided in either written diagram or oral form. Work involves walking, talking, hearing, using hands to handle, feel or operate objects or controls, and reaching with hands and arms. Vision abilities required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. May be required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 20 pounds.
