About the Facility - Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility (Indian Health Service) Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility is a full-service IHS hospital and outpatient clinic serving the Navajo Nation. The facility provides a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services including primary care, emergency medicine, surgery, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, dental, behavioral health, and specialty clinics. As one of the largest IHS facilities on the Navajo Reservation, it serves as a critical healthcare hub for the region. Facility Address: US Hwy 191, Chinle, AZ 86503 OB/GYN Physician - RESPONSIBILITIES (listed are included but not limited to) Provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care including prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum services. Perform gynecological examinations, screenings, and diagnostic evaluations. Manage high-risk pregnancies and coordinate referrals to tertiary care facilities when necessary. Perform surgical procedures including cesarean sections, hysterectomies, and other gynecological surgeries. Provide family planning counseling and contraceptive management. Collaborate with midwives, nursing staff, and allied health professionals in a multidisciplinary team environment. Maintain thorough and timely clinical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR). Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing medical education. Provide culturally competent care to a predominantly Native American patient population, with sensitivity to traditional beliefs and practices.
OB/GYN Physician - REQUIREMENTS Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG). Active, unrestricted medical license (Arizona license or ability to obtain). Current DEA registration. Current BLS certification (ACLS and NRP preferred). Minimum 2 years of clinical OB/GYN experience; experience in rural or underserved settings preferred. Experience with electronic health records. Experience serving Native American, IHS, or tribal healthcare populations preferred.
