To strengthen our team in the Quality Laboratory for Reduced Risk Products (RRP) at the Trier plant, we are looking for a Laboratory Specialist / Electrical Testing Engineer (m/f/d) in temporary employment (up to 2 years, max. 30.09.2028). Contract extension may be possible.

Your job mission:

The RRP Quality Laboratory specializes in the inspection and testing of globally manufactured Reduced Risk Products (RRP), including Heated tobacco products and e-cigarettes. The Laboratory Specialist / Electrical Testing Engineer (m/f/d) develops and validates test methods, implements various test setups in line with defined global standards, documents and reports test results as well as plans and coordinates laboratory project activities.


  • Develop electrotechnical and physical test methods for heated tobacco and e-vapor products (Reduced Risk Products and RRP). Train other team members on new test methods
  • Drive the validation and verification of test methods as a subject matter expert in accordance with ISO 17025 and FDA requirements
  • Select and qualify new measuring equipment and coordinate related maintenance and calibration activities
  • Perform quality analyses for products and act as a contact person for internal requestors, providing guidance on test requirements and underlying specifications
  • Responsible for documentation and reporting of test results
  • Plan and coordinate laboratory project activities, ensuring on-time execution, structured task prioritization, and effective alignment with cross-functional stakeholders

  • Relevant educational background: University degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a comparable technical field
  • Practical experience: Several years of work experience in electrical or electronic device testing or battery cell testing within R&D or QA environment
  • Valuable knowledge: Solid technical knowledge in the analysis and evaluation of electronic devices or in battery cell testing. Advanced knowledge of Quality Management Systems, in particular ISO 17025 and FDA requirements. Demonstrated project management skills
  • Special strengths: Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook); Python knowledge is an advantage. Very good written and spoken English skills
  • Suitable personality: Ability to work independently and in a team. Ability to communicate cross-functionally in an international environment. High degree of flexibility, with the ability to adapt effectively to changing project requirements. Willingness to travel internationally
