Roles and Responsibilities
Deep, hands-on administration of:
Microsoft Entra (Azure AD)
On-prem Active Directory (users, groups, GPOs, delegation)
Hybrid Exchange & Active Directory environments
Microsoft 365 / Exchange Online
Microsoft Intune (Autopilot, policies, compliance)
Microsoft Defender (Endpoint, Identity, Office 365)
Microsoft Purview (DLP, information protection)
Microsoft Copilot governance and security considerations
Design, implement, and secure NTFS file systems.
Manage NTFS permissions, inheritance, ACLs, and access-based security.
Secure files and folders using least-privilege access models.
Audit, remediate, and restructure legacy file and folder permissions.
Troubleshoot access, ownership, and permission-related issues in Active Directory and NTFS environments.
Perform Windows Server builds from the ground up.
Lead Windows OS upgrades and server migrations.
Design, deploy, and support Hyper‑V environments.
Perform and troubleshoot Hyper‑V Live Migration.
Manage VM performance, storage, and availability.
Diagnose and resolve server hardware‑level issues.
Perform server capacity planning and lifecycle management.
Respond to and remediate compromised systems (malware, viruses, hijacked endpoints).
Manage endpoint security, BitLocker, Defender, and remediation workflows.
Secure sensitive data through NTFS, DLP, and identity‑based access controls.
Participate in security incident response, investigations, and root‑cause analysis.
Administer and monitor Unitrends backup platform.
Perform backup validation, restores, and recovery testing.
Support Meraki switches and wireless access points.
Perform basic network troubleshooting.
Terminate patch cables and maintain clean, documented network closets when required.
Work with network teams on segmentation and infrastructure improvements.
Write and maintain PowerShell scripts for:
Active Directory administration
User and group management
NTFS permissions and auditing
System health checks and reporting
Automation of repetitive administrative tasks
Troubleshoot and enhance existing scripts used across the environment.
Use PowerShell as a primary administrative and automation tool.
Serve as a senior technical leader and escalation point.
Triage and assist with high‑priority and escalated tickets.
Ensure tickets are worked correctly and properly documented.
Work directly with vendors on support, licensing, and hardware/software issues.
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Company from time to time.
Qualifications and Requirements
8+ years of real‑world System Administration experience
8+ years administering Microsoft 365
8+ years with Microsoft Azure / Entra
8+ years with Microsoft Intune
8+ years with Co‑Pilot and onboarding pc’s
Strong experience with:
Active Directory (on‑prem and hybrid)
NTFS permissions, file system security, and access control
Microsoft Defender
BitLocker
Endpoint security
Extensive Hyper‑V experience
Strong PowerShell scripting experience
Ability to work fast, stay calm, and solve problems under pressure
Current and up‑to‑date Microsoft certifications related to:
Microsoft Intune
Microsoft Entra (Azure AD)
Microsoft 365 / Security Certifications must be active (not expired) and relevant to modern Microsoft cloud and hybrid environments
Candidates should be prepared to verify certifications during the interview process
PowerShell and Active Directory scenario questions
NTFS permission and access‑control troubleshooting scenarios
Hyper‑V and server migration discussions
Live or whiteboard technical problem solving based on real environments
Physical Demands: Constant sitting, walking short distances, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching above and/or below shoulder, handling/grasping documents or office equipment, clear speaking and adequate hearing sufficient to communicate effectively and respond appropriately in‑person and/or on the telephone, vision sufficient to read source materials and computer screen data, repetitive motions for computer equipment use, lift 25 lbs. occasionally, 5‑10 lbs. frequently to lift/carry/move objects, files and documents.
Must successfully pass a background check and drug test.
Work Environment Work is performed in an office environment with air conditioning and bright lights.
