Certified Caregiver
We are seeking an experienced Certified Caregiver to join our compassionate care team at Everlasting Services. The ideal candidate will have proven experience working in assisted living, memory care, and/or TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) environments. This role requires a high level of empathy, integrity, respect, and professionalism to provide individualized care that promotes residents' dignity, safety, and overall well-being.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Provide daily personal care assistance including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
- Monitor and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, and cognitive status to nurse.
- Support residents with TBI and memory impairments using therapeutic communication and redirection techniques.
- Administer medications and maintain accurate documentation per facility policy and state regulations.
- Assist residents with meals, hydration, and nutritional support following care plans.
- Encourage engagement in activities that promote social interaction, memory stimulation, and physical wellness.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment, following infection control and safety procedures.
- Collaborate with nurse and interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive resident care.
- CPR, AED, and First Aid Certification (current and valid)
- Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card (must provide proof)
- Proof of being TB-free (2 negative test or current chest X-ray)
- Memory Care Certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Caregiver Certificate
- Strong communication, observation, and documentation skills
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors with empathy and professionalism
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Must be able to assist residents with mobility, including transferring to and from beds, chairs, and wheelchairs.
- Visual and hearing acuity sufficient to monitor resident safety and communicate effectively.
- Must be able to perform job duties safely while adhering to infection control and safety guidelines.
